IKPN VOLKSROD

Hi guys! It's been a while since our last project..
Today we're about to reveal our latest project that we never thought that we can accomplish.
So there we are sitting around with friends in a bright midnight sky at IKPN as always,
and we're wondering what else can we modified that are still rare in Jakarta.. Because, we're a lil' bit jammed with our bike routines. We wanted something new n fresh in our hood, something that not normal people would do. we call it a 'trend set'.

As we all wondered and  joking around, we talked about to modified a vintage car into something that unusual in people's eyes. Finally, our friend (Aming) came out with a wicked idea..
He said, "why don't we make a 'rat rod' from a beetle (volkswagen)??" And he bring a few magazine from his VW collection and show a few pointer a "volksrod" look like.
For me, that is the most bad ass vintage car mod' that i ever seen..
And we all think about, and calculate it for the mod' and for the car it selves. Coz as far as we concern no one from our friends got a banned beetle on our garage...

So we search the car in the net, i got the criteria what i was looking for. Call the owner, look at the car, pay the dude, and i got my selves a beetle. YEEEAAAH!!
The car was ok, it runs in good condition, and it looks good.
I got hesitate for a while, i think maybe it's too crazy to make a rod from my beetle. And i don't know any custom body works who ever done a rod before.
But then, i realize that is the point of it. That's the beauty and the challenge.  So i decided to tore it down into pieces, and make a "ROD" out of it.

The modification...

And the story will continue... stay tune!

Yes Homies!! The Camera is rolling... and we're on tv...ACTION!!!

When?? The time was January 14th '09. Where?? It took place at our very own playground. Who?? We (IKPN-Custombikes) and some of the Jakarta Street Lowrider a.k.a JSL crew got an opportunity to help a local TV station for their weekly TV program called "Majalah Trend". (Silly name for a TV show isn't it?? hehe kidding).
It's about an activity of young people around their hobby and their community, etc. This program will be shown next friday, on "Trans TV". So u guys who did take a participation at the shooting recently, wanna know 'bout the details of the story and to see how good you are in a TV's, please do stay tune...hehe!!

Their story for the coming up show was about this nice young lady who searching for something new, unique and trendy at our very own lovely "J" town. And accidently she 'bump'-in to a few cool dudes who actually got an custom Lowrider bikes. Coz' for its uniqueness, she ask a few question about it, how to ride it, and decide to take a few spin around the block.
One thing led to another, she want to know more about our community, so we take her to our workshop and introduce her to an expert in this kind of fields. Our very own friend and mechanic so called 'Bang Aming'... And so the story goes!
The weather is good, TV crew all so professional, the shooting was simple and directional, the bikes is all on good condition for a shoot, many friends come and bring their bikes.. Conclusion; It was a nice day to shoot and hell of a great day to gather around with some friends and laugh..
Thanks to Trans TV, Aries from JSL, IKPN crew for y'all participation..
And for y'all who didn't got a chance to watch it on TV, here is a few sneak peak preview of the shooting process that we took from our own camera.

Cheers!
